The sushi belt.
There are many places in Japan to get sushi and my favorite places to go are the restaurants that have the conveyor belts that circulate around the restaurant and you just pull the sushi that you want from the belt. You can also order sushi from a waitress or you can order from one of the many sushi chefs located in the center of the conveyor belt and restaurant. Sometimes they have specials with steamed scallops or conch shells. They also offer chicken nuggets, french fries and fresh strawberries with whipped cream for dessert. They have fresh sea salt in rock form that the chefs will put on your sushi if asked. I haven't quite figured out how to communicate that yet.
They price the sushi by the color of the plate. It is a really fantastic system and I am surprised we don't have any sushi restaurants like this in the States. Even after all of the sushi I have tried here in Japan, my favorite is still, the spicy tuna roll in Cabo at Cascadas de Baja. I dream of it, I was so.... looking forward to it this summer and then they had tuna problems in Cabo, more about that when I get to that posting.
