Ready, Get Set, Go............

Anika after her first day of school.

Zander got ahold of Anika's hat and backpack and decided to try them out.

.......and the race begins...........Since school began I feel like I am a contestant in the "Amazing Race." I am not complaining, in a sick and demented way I am actually liking getting back into the routine even though it is a crazy, busy time of year. There have been multiple meetings for Lexi's school and then meetings for whatever extracurricular she is involved in.

Most of you won't care about the details, but I know some grandparents and Aunties and Uncles will, otherwise bear with me or scroll through it quickly.

Our schedule goes; Monday's Lexi has Ballet and tap from 4:30-6:00, soccer from 6:00-7:00, every other Monday she has Girl Scouts from 3:30- 5:00. Monday's ballet she just started so she can catch up on tap which she has only taken for one year, the teacher is doing this on her own time, a saint for sure! Tuesday's free, thank God! Although I am volunteering on the MOPS Steering Team, so I have MOPS once a month on Tuesday's. Wednesday's Anika has ballet from 3:30- 4:15, Lexi has ballet from 4:30-6:00 and Missionette's (children's bible study) from 6:40- 8:30, Thursday's tennis from 2:30-3:30, free on Friday's and Saturday's are soccer games in the am. Lexi is also volunteering for Safety Patrol, which means she has to be at school 45 minutes earlier each morning and a little later in the afternoons.

Anika has school M-F and thank God for my friend Lisa, we car pool and switch every other day. Lisa is so sweet and her daughter Aiko or Ai-jan is a good friend to Anika. Lisa is Okinawan, but her father is American and mother is Japanese. Lisa speaks fluent Japanese and helps me out immensely with the Japanese preschool when it come to questions and things that are lost in translation.

Okinawa is an island off the southeast coast of Japan and most Okinawans will clarify they are from Okinawa. Okinawa is a tropical oasis and just gorgeous and populated by friendly easy going people. Okinawa is well known for it's pineapples and they make pretty much anything out of pineapples in Okinawa. The pineapple soda and wine is really tasty. We can't wait to take a hop to Okinawa and have a nice family vacation there. There is a military base there that we can stay on and it is right on the water.
