HAPPY BIRTHDAY MELANIE!

I want to wish my dearest friend Melanie Happy 40th birthday. Mel and I have known each other for years. We met in Sun Valley, Idaho at volleyball try-outs back in 1983. I immediately bonded with the entire Hodge clan, Melanie and her sisters, Shannyn and Sunny and last but not least Hodgie and Sherry. Mel's Mom and Dad. Mel you are a sweetheart and an absolute gem to have as a friend. I remember many road trips for volleyball that year and of course winning State Championships. Our most common denominator at the time was volleyball and the fact that we were from Southern California. Melanie and I have remained great friends throughout the years. Melanie and her wonderful husband Brian are expecting their first baby on April 17th and I can't wait to be Auntie Jacquie. John and I are so... very excited for them. Now, Mel and Brian, you realize if Wyatt is born on the April 28th, Wyatt's middle name will have to be Jack, short for Auntie Jacquie. I so... wish I could be there for such a miraculous day. It is so hard being so far away, because I keep missing your important milestones. Just take lots of pics and videos, still not the same:(. Happy Birthday Melanie, you are my best friend and you and Brian deserve the absolute best.
