For the last couple of weeks Anika asks a few times a day, "I go to school right now Mama?" She also dresses in her ballet leotard, tutu, tights and shoes EVERY day and asks if she can "go bowett".
Now for the school problem. The CDC has preschool, but don't encourage a learning atmosphere, it is more daycare than school. They don't encourage introducing letters or numbers, etc... Plus there is a very long wait list. There is one women on base that does preschool from her home and Anika was supposed to start with her this week, but ahhh her spot has gone missing.
Sarah mentioned a Japanese International Church that has a pre-school and they speak English and of course Japanese too. They run on a montessori school system and I am thrilled about that. School is everyday from 0900-1400. I don't know if I am ready to let Anika go especially everyday. I would never get to see her, she would end up coming home, napping, dinner and then the day is done. Regardless she is ready for school so I am going tomorrow with Sarah to register Anika and Sarah may register her son Wyatt.
I know Anika is ready and will have fun at school. She will also learn how to speak Japanese. Mommy just isn't ready for her baby girl to grow up.
