I have decided to post our children's milestones so our family and friends can get to know Lexi, Anika and Alexander a little better since we are so far away. Blogging is not only is a way to keep everyone posted, but it is also our family's journal so we can remember ALL the details, because so many of the details tend to fade quickly and are replaced with more, wonderful memories. Heaven help me if this site ever crashed. I would loose 2 years of memories, since this IS our record keeper, my journal. Thanks for the idea Irene:) of milestones and thanks Berni for introducing me to the world of blogging when Alexander was born.
I also plan in the next few weeks writing a lot about Japan, the culture, the differences, "the rules", the customs and traditions. The funny quirks about Japan and the annoying ones. I hope you enjoy and if you can't come visit Japan while were here you can at least experience Japan through our blog.
At 9 1/2 years Lexi is;
- Loves Girls scouts and is working on her Bronze Star
- Loves to go camping
- Loved playing basketball this year for the very first time (was great at blocking and one of the few times she caught the rebound she shot at the wrong basket, it was very funny, she was very embarrassed, but all the adults said it happens to everyone at some point:)
- Loved playing volleyball and having Mom as her coach
- Loves playing the Wii (only allowed to play it at night and on rainy days)
- Loves her brother and sister, but looses patience with them, at times
- Has worked really hard at getting her bands on the recorder, she has started the second set
- Has brought home good grades on her report card
- Loves her teacher Ms. Watkins
- Loves ballet and dancing
- Did her first catwalk last month for the Youth Services fashion show
- Loves sweets, like her Dad
- Loves to read
- Wants to learn how to quilt
- Loves playing cards and board games with the family
- Loves Hanna Montana and anything to do with High School Musical
- Is not interested in boys (thank God)
- Insists that she needs to wear a bra (not even close)
- Has developed the smart mouth and the ever so common, "ugh' when asked to do chores and BTW she does not take out the trash enthusiastically like Anika
- Gets an allowance of $3.00 a week, but is asking for a raise (so far picketing has not begun so I am holding out on negotiations)
- Is looking forward to seeing all of her family in a few weeks and can't wait to go back to Cabo
- Is a girly girl and loves to have her nails painted and likes Mom to braid her hair
- Speaks German, but is loosing it (trying to figure out how to keep it alive)
- Monica is her new best friend
- Still believes in Santa Claus, even though her teacher told the classroom this year that Santa Claus is dead (I came back with Santa is alive, especially in our hearts. I think she just wants me to think that she believes in Santa, because she doesn't want to hurt my feelings
- Is amazed that I know she was rolling her eyes even though she was in the other room
- Likes sushi
