Lexi is now 10 years old. I can't believe it! I remember vividly, the days she was born. Yes, I said days, because I was in hard labor for 2 days. She was so.... beautiful and tiny and still is. Lexi is turning into a beautiful, caring person. She is kind, helpful and polite, but she is a typical preteen, some eye rolling and huff and puffs when I ask her to do something and she has something else in mind.
This year for Lexi's actual birthday on July 23rd, she requested her Dad's hamburgers for dinner, watermelon and chips. We had ice cream cake afterwards, which hit the spot since we were eating outside in the Gazebo and it was very hot and humid. On the weekend I rented an apartment at the temporary lodging facility on base AKA TLF. 3 bedrooms, kitchen, living room, just perfect for a slumber party. 8 of Lexi's friends came to the slumber party and we made personal pizza's for dinner followed by Lexi's favorite cake, my homemade carrot cake with cream cheese frosting. The girls did some crafts, stamping their journals and photo albums followed by some skits. By the time they were finished with that it was movie and popcorn time and bedtime for me. Unfortunately we have not been able to recover the photos from the party, but I do have the one photo of Lexi, Anika and Lexi's doll Meagan. Lexi and her doll are wearing the American Girl matching Kimono pajama's given to her by MomMom and PopPop. Thanks to everyone for all the birthday wishes and wonderful gifts.
Ellie, which is Lexi's Itty Bitty Baby, an American Girl Doll was sadly sent off to the doll hospital for an arm repair. Yes, you read that right, American Girl has a special doll hospital. Ellie checked in a few weeks ago and should come back as good as new in a hospital gown, with an id bracelet and release papers. Pretty funny!
