John's Mom's butter Christmas cookies
Above Zander, the Christmas Crack, I mean Christmas Cookies have kicked in, yeah for sugar highs and children. Good times!
We finished the Christmas Cookies this last weekend and I think I have gained 5 pounds just from inhaling the scent of baked cookies. We made so many types of cookies this year, my favorite was the new cookie recipe, that my friend Hillary gave to me. John made his Mom's butter cookies and the chocolate chip cookies, I made peanut butter cookies, cake mix cookies, Rice Krispie Treats and Fairy Candy, a recipe that my friend Beth makes. Of course John made his yummy Christmas Fudge. Now we just need to finish plating the cookies and deliver them as we take the kids Christmas Caroling tomorrow night.
The new cookie recipe is below, they are super easy, extremely good and incredibly fattening, just right for Christmas!
CAKE BOX COOKIES
I box of cake mix
1/2 C oil
2 eggs
1/2 C filler
1 C of another filler
For example I took yellow cake mix, put 1 C chocolate chips and 1/2 mixed nuts in.
Another cookie I made was chocolate cake mix, 1/2 cup coconut flakes and toffee and almond bits. Hillary had some other ideas, white cake mix, white chocolate chips with 1/2 C craisins and another was spice cake mix with raisins and peacans. She also made chocolate cookies with 1/2 cup oatmeal and 1 cup chocolate chips
Roll into 1 1/2 inch balls, bake at 350 for 9 minutes. They are super easy and soft, chewy and best of all yummy. Enjoy! Thanks Hillary.
