I love the Fall

A few weeks ago Anika's Yochiun, Japanese Preschool, had their annual Fall Fest. It was a beautiful day and it was nice to interact with our Japanese friends from the school. For a few hours the children played games and enjoyed the play ground and animals. Everyone enjoyed hot dogs and popcorn as well. I was the popcorn lady and handed out the popcorn. Afterwards we went into the church and sang songs and laughed at Mr. Reiko's animated performance on stage. It was a fun day and a great way to begin Autumn.

The Popcorn Lady!

I love the fall, the turning of the leaves and the comfort food. Stews, baking with pumpkin, the smell of burning leaves or wood, etc.... I love soccer and am sorry to see it end. I love hot cocoa, peppermint tea, playing in the leaves (but not raking them).

Lexi played her last soccer game last week and she played really well . She came so... close, 3 times to scoring a goal. I think Lexi finally realizes that the ball isn't going to come to her, but that she needs to go to the ball. The first goal attempt, she missed the goal by a few inches. Her second attempt the goalie caught it and then almost dropped it, darn. Her third attempt she missed the goal by a few inches, once again, so close. The second half she played goalie, which I was hoping for a few more attempts. Either way I am so proud of her for those attempts, she has never done that before, she finally got a taste of it and of course, low and behold it is her last game of the season. I wish they had soccer year round here, they did in Stuttgart.
