I am falling a little behind with my Holi-daily. We had a blast at John's Christmas Party, we had SO......... much fun that we didn't get home until almost 2:00 in the morning. We danced and karaoked the night away, thank God no one took video. I think our babysitter and surrogate daughter Lauren was very surprised that we stayed out so... late. We always come home around 2130, because we are always so... tired by then. We were home by 2300 for the Air Force Ball. Lauren thinks we are party poopers. NOT ANYMORE!!!!!
Okay, so we payed the price the next day with lack of sleep among other things. We did not make it to church, as planned, but we did got to the Brunch with Santa at the O-Club. The kids weren't as excited to Santa as I hoped for, actually Anika was a little frightened. There was a pianist and a huge selection of wonderful food. Afterwards we went home and took a nap, we haven't done that in awhile. Needless to say the cookies didn't get done. Maybe today.

Sunday I was pouting, because I planned on getting some great photos of the kids with Santa, since the only photo of the kids with Santa that I have is of Lexi when she was 3. Not a whole lot of Santa photo ops in Germany. When Santa was at the base the line was a mile long, not kidding on that one.

When John and I were partying the night away, John misplaced the camera. The next morning I asked him where the camera was and he couldn't find it. I thought for sure we would find it the Club, but no luck. I was sick to my stomach, the camera is like a 3rd arm. All the lost photos from the party and photos of the kids. It is a major way for me to stay connected to family and friends. It is also the Holiday Season with 3 children and no... camera. Needless to say with all the expenses of Christmas replacing said camera was not an option, I just couldn't stomach shelling out that kind of money. A few days passed and nothing.
Saturday night we were planning on getting home with 225-RIDE, which is a free shuttle service offered on base year round. You call the them and they will pick you up anywhere on base and take you home free of charge. When we asked to use the phone to call 225-RIDE the Karaoke dude overheard and offered to drive us home. Our last chance for the camera was karaoke dude, maybe it fell out of John's tuxedo pocket in the car.
Bingo! Karaoke Man found the camera underneath the passenger seat in the car. He returned the camera on Monday afternoon. I was SO............. happy. So that is one reason I have not been keeping up on Holi-daily.
Merry Christmas!

Jacquie - you look fantastic. Great photos of the two of you. Looks like you had a lot of fun. We missed out this year - they flew our guys in right after they scheduled the semi-formal (used to be an annual formal ball but was downgraded because most of the guys were deployed). And then they nixxed having a semi formal (originally announced) for our guys again. What a bummer!!
But it IS aways fun to go out and getting dressed up.
Anyway, you guys look wonderful!! Great post!!
