We have a new Christmas Eve tradition. Our friends delivered us some portioned out cookie dough (the dry ingredients only) in a cute jar and sang a few Christmas Carols upon delivery. It was so............ sweet. Nathan also played the guitar while Elizabeth and their children sang, so I thought Hmmmmmmmmmm!

This year I packaged up the fudge and cookies on plates and put them in the wagon for delivery. On Christmas Eve we dressed the kids warmly and set out to deliver our gifts and sing Christmas Carols. Lexi's friend Michelle had never been Christmas Caroling so she joined us. As we visited friends and neighbors we had some of their children join us and had a good turnout as we collected kids along the way. It was so..... much fun. I had a cold already so my voice sounded 10 times worse than it normally does. My friend, Angela's, 3 year old daughter was covering her ears, was she trying to tell us something?
We are definitely doing it again, next Christmas Eve. It is so much fun to sing and see all the beautiful lights and decorations that everyone on base has taken the time to put up. There was a really cute landing strip set up on someones lawn with Santa in an airplane.
John loves to go on the Norad Santa tracking website and show the kids where Santa is in the world, delivering gifts to all the good girls and boys.
One of our older traditions for Christmas Eve is to eat our homemade Albondiga's Soup which is a Mexican Meatball Soup with lime and cilantro. The soup definitely hit the spot after being out in the cold for an hour and a half. Afterwards we each got to open one present, which is the designated Christmas Pj's present. Although I couldn't find any Christmas pajama's for Alexander, so he got to open his Playskool Pirate Ship, which he and Anika loved.
I hope everyone had a wonderful, joyous and heart filled Christmas Eve and enjoyed it as much as we did.
